My love for cricket is genetically linked. I come from a family of cricket lovers or maybe cricket fanatics is a better word. Cricket is more than a game to us. It is a family bonding event. It is the time when the whole family comes together to shout, fight and cry over a cause. The enegry and joy during the game is boundless. I remember looking forward to the game only to spend some time with the family. Every India Vs Pakistan and India Vs Sri Lanka match was a war by itself. The sofa arrangements, The ever available munchies are ever green memories of my childhood.
I have even bunked school to watch matches or to sleep after a match or because I have missed homework. Work brought a whole lot of responsibilies to the picture. Most of the time, It steals our ‘Me time’. Juggling between monthly targets and keeping up with family responsibilities literally stopped me from thinking about myself. Sometimes when I stop and think I about me, I feel guilty. Still there are some values in life which we can not live without. The list for me is a little longer. I have often wondered if I will just disappear amist the rush. Some days pass by with a impact. Some just disappear. On Sunday, You realise a week has passed by. And the only thing you remember is deadline and running to get a train. How sad can life become.
Cricket is one of my favorites. Thank fully my team also loves cricket. Cricket with friends takes the experience to a new level. It also contributes to the bonding of the team. And this in turn helps them increase the productivity. If you get caught by the boss, you might earn a few stares too. And you are really blessed if your boss is a cricket fan. We even planned a big projector display in the auditorium for the world cup finals. Thanks to the boss. And the plan did not materialise thanks to the anti cricket and work only team. But we still managed to sneak and view a few overs, atleast the important ones. But this cannot have always. The easiest way to stay connected with your favourite match and your work is the computer and a solid internet connection.
