Words – Said or Unsaid

The shrill of silence pierced my heart I wish the pain would become familiar But it just hurts a little more Every time you stare nonchalantly I feel smaller and insignificant You brush my insecurities aside As if they don’t make sense I cannot blame it It does not make sense to me either I wish I was stronger to let it go I yearn to be indifferent But you seem to be the expert I try voicing out my pain It just reflects back to me The more I shout The lesser its heard I want a conversation To move forward and maybe closer But to refuse to communicate When I try to break your silence Your words rip me apart At this point, I don’t know which hurts me the most Your silence or your words

Foot Prints on Time

Is age just a number? I wonder within myself Or it could have been aloud I can no longer tell My ears are sharp, but my mind is preoccupied I try recalling the past But it seems like a distant memory Everything is a blur of multiple emotions I wish I could see through them At least relive a few; forget many But life does not work that way I feel weary in my bones I wish I could rest But the journey is still not over I hope it is not long as before Almost half is what I can do My knees tremble as I gaze behind My eyesight dims as the distance increases I have come a long way Through different phases and even eras I look at the age Is it just a number? Did I ask myself this before? Is my work done? Can I do anything else? The questions keep adding. Was it memorable? It was interesting Was I happy? I forgot to tick the box. Am I mature? Only time will tell The age might not be just a number anymore It is a reminder to let go It is a reminder to cherish the small things It is a reminder to...

Home

What is the difference between a house and a home A house is built of bricks and cement It is the emotionless structure It might protect you from the harshest weather But it can never provide warmth It can give you a place to sleep But it can never provide comfort It can give you a refined outlook But it can never provide respect It can give you a place to eat But it will never satisfy your inner desire A home is built of love and compassion And it can make you feel loved and cherished

The Ultimate Sacrifice

We all use the word sacrifice We have let go of something For our loved ones Or for the greater good This could be simple as a chocolate Or even a relationship Though all of might not boast about it We still pride ourselves of the fact At least to ourselves We feel good about it And replay that memory on a cold day However most of us do not know The real meaning of the term It means putting other’s need first At the cost of sacrificing our own Every day soldiers die To protect the nameless faces of the nation And that is the ultimate sacrifice

Game of Life

Have you played chess? The game has a simple goal Protect your king at all costs However, life is a little different Ok, it is entirely different Life is not a one-person show We cannot sacrifice the pawns As much as we want to The queen will not always protect you She needs to be pampered at times The bishops might be busy in their own lives Sometimes, we have the tendency To treat others as supporting characters We consider our purposes to be crucial And do not offer a second thought for others These moves might be right for chess But life needs a different approach

Soul Mate

We meet so many people in life We subconsciously divide them into different categories How many people do we see every day? How many people do we actually see? Most of them are passing clouds There is a blur in our picture Some people make an impact And deserve a second look Some people make their way into our life Some stay with us forever However, there is always that one person Who makes us happy and sad They make us curious They give us warmth They awaken our inner sources They make us pledge our souls And they change our world But it is worth it

The moment

I really have no time I am too busy I am swamped with work These are a few reasons which give others To avoid spending time for them Sometimes we become so involved That we fail our loved ones We tell ourselves that it is for their benefit That our work with guarantee their future However, we do not seem the loss Time is not fluid, as it looks But our relationships might wither away People might stop needing us We could lose the moment Everyone has a specific duration in earth No one can predict this period We ignore people in the assumption That we have eternity with them However, it is an illusion Though we might not spend hours for them A few minutes will do the trick Our work can be scheduled But the precious moments of relationships will never wait

Mother

Mothers are superheroes and angels Or at least that’s what we believe Our mothers are our first love They are our first fans and first critics They are our inspiration and guide They motivate and encourage us However, sometimes they fail They do not understand us We feel that she is not up to the current trend They are strict and occasionally tough We fail to realise that deep down she means good That she is new to the whole process Though we see her as a superwomen She struggles with her limitations Yet she is always there for us Let's love with all her characteristics

Mistake

Every decision we make Comes with its consequences Some might have a happy ending While others might not end as we expect Life is a calculated risk Sometimes we have to roll the dice Even careful planning cannot assure the results Occasionally, we fall hard Even when there is no valid reason We call it fate Maybe there is another path The mistakes burn us But they tutor us They impart knowledge and experience They teach us life

Mother Nature

As we throw a wrapper on the road Grumbling about the uncleanliness of the country We compare our streets with picturesque destinations Little do we realise our fault in the issue Despite popular belief, the trash is not dumped in tonnes It is the collection of multiple wrappers And improper disposal techniques Most of us wonder how a single person can make a difference Maybe we cannot But if every single person makes a small change Then the world would be a better place We think that we own the earth Fortunately, we do not We rent the place For a short duration of time It is everyone’s responsibility for each one of us To protect our environment You need not plant a tree Just know proper waste disposal techniques

Appreciation

On a freezing cold night The world was busy as well So involved in their little lives The family huddled together And separately of course With their eyes glued on their phones And mouths filled with food They did not realise their blessing The love and warmth of their loved ones Their abundance was a curse in disguise They pulled their blanket And settled into the soft bed without a second thought The bed was an object of comfort They never really appreciated it The brand mattered Rather than the blessing of it Somewhere someone knew the value of it But did not have the chance to experience it They gathered the waste paper Lit a fire with the available stuff They were grateful for the warmth And the family they had The shortage gave them a valuable lesson It taught them gratitude And the ability to appreciate life

Survival

Humans are an interesting species We are all about survival We started with absolutely nothing And have evolved with time We have survived natural calamities We have witnessed political warfares Science says that man was formed from monkeys The caveman struggled with the weather His need motivated him to grow To innovate and improve his standards Today we send satellites to space We live in apartment and duplex Our advancement is seen in all aspects And we owe it to our survival instincts

Unrequisited Love

Have you fallen in love with the wrong person? Or even the wrong time Love works in mysterious ways We cannot predict or control it Even the strongest men/women Can become victims of the bug It comes for no reason decipherable However, it does not always end it well There is not always a rainbow at the end of the journey There are something things which could not be right This could be the person or the time We sigh, gulp our feelings and move on We wish for a miracle But do not hold our breath about it We protect our memories And move on with a painful heart

Experience

Life is an experience We start with a clean slate at birth Every day we learn something new We improve our experiences We make mistakes We fall down and get hurt But we learn to get up And learn from our mistakes When would we complete this process? We never will Sometimes, life is not about growth It is about the experience It is about the knowledge It is about the urge to leave our footprints behind

The hero

It is just another rainy day An ordinary day for most people But it was a special day for her It was one of the most traumatising and happiest days of her life She cried aloud and grabbed the edge of the bed The baby tried to push her way out to the world Somewhere across the country On the harsh cold border A soldier held his stand braving the weather His body threatened to give up But his spirit was stronger than ever His held his position waiting for his cue His senses were on high alert And he watched every moment with scrutiny He aimed his rifle waiting for the perfect opportunity to take that shot His security and life was least of his concerns His nation and her safety was all that mattered The baby decided to make its way out She arrived just in time The gunshots were fired She shrieked at the top of her lungs Oblivious to the fact that a guardian angel protected her They protected her along with millions of people in the country She has his eyes and nos...

My Own brand of Temple Run

Every day, I wake up with hope of finding happiness and peace I prepare myself with positivity  I hope that today is the day that my life will change But from the minute I start, the hurdles begin The pit of loneliness The fire of indifference The depth of irresponsibility The obstacle of disappointment It comes on and on till I can no longer run Life is meant to be interesting A few barriers to make it exciting But every hurdle takes a piece away from me Some hindrances just pierces my heart And does not teach me anything I only I learn is I should not trust I should not hope I should not smile At the end of the day, I feel so drained That I can hardly breathe I just wanna to sleep And never wake up again I hid behind meaningless things to forget reality But It never leaves me It might just follow me everywhere Till I stop breathing

The Life of a Tree

The printer whined in the corner Papers piled up in the tray I hastily grabbed the papers and rushed to my paper The machine was hot to touch Probably angry about the overwork hours I did not give it a second thought As I hastily skimmed through the papers The mistakes seemed bigger than before I refilled the papers and began correcting the mistakes Ironically about ecological balance As I struggled to add more value it The message stuck me hard Why would I cause so damage as well as advocate about it I might never be able to undo the damage Every tree in the universe has a role And the role is not always to be draft paper It definitely has a bigger part in the ecosystem Think twice before wasting it

Submerged

There was water above the bridge I waddled through it carefully It was hot, warm and cold But it was nice An occasional fish caught my eyes Sometimes cool, sometimes dangerous But then, it was the perks of life I was breathing and suffocating Was it biologically possible? It was emotionally feasible Maybe it was the essence of life Sometimes I felt like sinking Somedays, I managed to afloat Then again, There was water above the bridge

Dilemma

Should I or Shouldn't I The force pulled me like a magnet I battled against gravity Fear and curiosity surged through me I even googled for answers Friends and Critics debated on my behalf Sometimes, I wished to given up The fear jostled my path I ran as fast I could As if I could outrun it The demon never seemed to give up The more I avoided it, the more it drew me towards it I almost lost it, Still Should I or Shouldn't I

The Fall

I was falling, and I knew it was not gravity Nothing made sense anymore My heart and mind was not in sync And I could feel a cold war brewing And a warmth surged through me The contrast was alarming I blacked out in middle of conversation Into a world of bliss and happiness The eyes followed me everywhere And the aroma spread through me I wished I had control Then again, I wanted to let it go The bottom was nowhere to be found My heart told me it was worth it
