When coffee became complicated

When did coffee become complicated. I can sense a frown in some faces. While others might think this as a stupid question. Most of us cannot life without Coffee. It is the best alarm in the world. A cup of this brewed liquid has always started my day. Many would agree with me on this fact. Sometimes more than 3 cups is needed to survive the day. The only coffee I knew was made of milk, coffee powder, sugar and the most important ingredient, mom's magic. I am not a coffee expert and don't plan to be one. Coffee became complicated to me on the day I entered Coffee Day. The menu card gave different names to my coffee, at different price ranges and exotic descriptions. I did not  understand if those variety really existed or if it just was a marketing gimmick to charge some extra bucks. Coffee did not cost a million, still more than I originally presumed .

Cappuccino
What actually impressed me was the latte art on the top of it. It was good  but it was different. The first question which popped into my mind . What is different in it. I was too embarrassed to ask. People expected me to know it. Or I just perceived so. Google gave me a recipe. Wiki gave me a one page write up. Yet the mystery still remained. I could not understand why people was so much attracted to it. I then realised that the factor which made cappuccino delicious was not the strength of the coffee bean, not the thickness of the milk, not even the silkiness of the cream. It was the company and the ambiance. It is nice and I know a few cappuccino addicts. But if you are not one of the them. Don't think of taking your taste bud to a doctor. You are just being honest and loyal to her Indian cousin .

Expresso
This exotic drink has put many in a spot. Expect for a few , she has never managed to impress you. The reason being our sweet tooth. We like our c's to be sweet. Be it coffee, chocolate or care. We always prefer the sugary types. It is not surprising that we are about leading in type 2 diabetes. Expresso is a strongly brewed decoction served in a extremely cute cup with sugar and no milk. She is ideal to make you work throughout the night. But might not capture you in the middle of a meetup.

Caffe Latte

This drink of milk and powdered hot roasted coffee beans gives you the soft silky feeling. It is almost similar to the Indian Version. Just a little thick because of the milk

The list goes on and on based on the milk consistency, coffee bean strength and the presence of exotic flavours. Be it Caffe mocha, Americano, Macchiato, Irish coffee or the cold caffeine versions.  There are more than 50 versions of our favorite energy drink and this is not a encyclopedia to describe it. Next time you visit a coffee shop, be it barista, costa coffee or cafe coffee day. Just sit back and enjoy the company with a sip of the new flavors. You might even like it even more than the company.

And I just realised that the best coffee I ever had is mom's magic brew. No pun intended

Rock to Sculpture

Every person we meet creates an impact on us. The way the impact works is quite surprising. Sometimes the impact created by a stranger is more than the impact by a close friend. I always consider life as a block of coal or a big piece of rock. The journey from Coal to diamond or Rock to sculpture takes a lot of time and can also be painful. It does not happen with a single person or with a single incidence. The conversation process is continuous and can happen till our last breath. We get better and better with age and experience. I have never managed to understand when a person reaches his best. Maybe the level is unattainable. Still changes, both ups and downs happen throughout our lives. I remember an innocent hyper girl who wore sensitivity on her sleeve. The smallest spark was enough to set her on fire. She was on the extreme of emotions. The emotions can range from Happiness, sorrow, loneliness and anger. Still the emotions controlled her and stole her sleep many nights. ...

Digital India - A shortcut to Safer India

Digital India – A vision by the government, An expectation by the youth, A mystery for the public What does digital India mean? This question which pops into everyone’s mind and heart when they hear the term. It may also seem as an unattainable fruit to some. This is true to some extent. But this will definitely create a great change in the life of every individual. More than anything, I see this as stepping stone towards a safer nation. Safe nation is slowly becoming a distant dream. Some blame the women. Some blame the men. But maybe both and to some extent the nation as a whole is also responsible. Men harass women because they think they are helpless and vulnerable. Women allow this because they think men are stronger. Indians are not heartless enough to allow a crime happen right in front of their nose. Sometimes they become worried about the consequences of helping others. Thanks to the laws and corruption. I have always wondered what would be the hope and thought of a ...

Foot Prints on Time

Is age just a number? I wonder within myself Or it could have been aloud I can no longer tell My ears are sharp, but my mind is preoccupied I try recalling the past But it seems like a distant memory Everything is a blur of multiple emotions I wish I could see through them At least relive a few; forget many But life does not work that way I feel weary in my bones I wish I could rest But the journey is still not over I hope it is not long as before Almost half is what I can do My knees tremble as I gaze behind My eyesight dims as the distance increases I have come a long way Through different phases and even eras I look at the age Is it just a number? Did I ask myself this before? Is my work done? Can I do anything else? The questions keep adding. Was it memorable? It was interesting Was I happy? I forgot to tick the box. Am I mature? Only time will tell The age might not be just a number anymore It is a reminder to let go It is a reminder to cherish the small things It is a reminder to...
