Pearl City - A Makeover

I remember the bumpy roads and the never ending journey during my childhood. I remember asking the same question over and over again, when will we reach? In less than a decade, the change is tremendous and unbelievable. Thanks to planning and support of the government. The sleepy town has now become the busy industrial hub. The pearl city which is always known for its silent yet busy port and its allied business is now become an active commercial city with connectivity through all means. Be it water, air, road or rail, the city offers a wide range of services through all. The city has one of the oldest natural harbor which serves as both a hub for most countries. The harbor is one of the natural harbors in the country and has good dock facilities. The harbor also serves as a job source for many people of the Pearl Citizens as well as many others as well. The city’s airport offers domestic flights to almost all places in South India. Though, relatively new when compared to the...

Is it her mistake or ours?

We have always loved her Right since we learned to jump the puddle Since we made the boat stronger than Titanic We danced with her and our childhood buddies We cried with her for our first heartbreak We walked hand in hand with our loves ones Not the Aashique type Still we did Suddenly why do we hate her? Why do we religiously watch the news? And pray that she should not come She is never enough Why do we try to stop her Just because we restrict her path Just because we fill the earth with garbage Does not mean we can blame her The recent floods and trauma Is it her mistake or ours?

Life is not fair

Life is not fair But who said It should be fair? There are too many things in life Which does not have a reason Which happens without a cause We long for things which might not happen And we are not alone in it Smile is not simple as it seem It costs different Sometimes a penny is enough to buy it Sometimes even a lakh does not do the trick Sometimes a hug is more than enough Sometimes your loved ones fail to do it How do we find happiness Maybe we never will Still we get lost in the pursuit How do we find peace Even the greatest thing fail to do it Still it is available inside us But how we understand and find it Is a completely different world Life is full of humor And not necessarily filled with laughter The humor can be dark either The grape is always unattainable And our heart does not accept that its sour Maybe its Life's way of making us jump And save us from monotony Still Life is not fair But who said It should be fair?

The Perfect Groom

The Perfect Groom A uthor  :  Sumeetha Manikandan Preface Very little has gone right in Nithya's young life. So, when a proposal from a  young, handsome BRI comes along, her mother jumps at the opportunity and packs her daughter off to the US with her perfect groom Nithya seems to have settled in with Ashok, ostensibly happy, if as yet childless, in her new life, When an old flame comes back into her life, However the cracks in her perfect marriage begin to show Review: The book speaks of the reality of the Indian Girls. Most of us jump at the oppurunity of marrying an NRI. Little  do we think of the consequences. Not all marriages  are wrong. Still they are not right either. I like the way the story is built. Coincidences and Miracles do happen. The author has pictured a close image of the Indian Scenario. The protagonist reminds of the p eople we met in daily live, simple, submissive yet strong. The book is simple an...

Rock to Sculpture

Every person we meet creates an impact on us. The way the impact works is quite surprising. Sometimes the impact created by a stranger is more than the impact by a close friend. I always consider life as a block of coal or a big piece of rock. The journey from Coal to diamond or Rock to sculpture takes a lot of time and can also be painful. It does not happen with a single person or with a single incidence. The conversation process is continuous and can happen till our last breath. We get better and better with age and experience. I have never managed to understand when a person reaches his best. Maybe the level is unattainable. Still changes, both ups and downs happen throughout our lives. I remember an innocent hyper girl who wore sensitivity on her sleeve. The smallest spark was enough to set her on fire. She was on the extreme of emotions. The emotions can range from Happiness, sorrow, loneliness and anger. Still the emotions controlled her and stole her sleep many nights. ...
